The vision of St. Mary’s Center is to create a community where income does not determine the quality of life for elders and children.
Our community center offers a life of dignity, empowerment and purpose for seniors. It is a unique feature of St. Mary’s, a place where homeless and low-income seniors are welcomed. We serve coffee and conversation each morning, a hot meal at noon, provide interesting classes and programs, and create a place where friendships are forged among elders who may otherwise be isolated.
During the week, our food program gives out bags of groceries to seniors and needy families.
At the holidays, we distribute baskets of toys and gift certificates to purchase a holiday meal to more than 400 neighborhood families.
The community center is also the site for year-around cultural celebrations and observances. Check out our What’s Happening page and our calendar for more information about specific events.
Our center is open:
Monday to Friday, 9 am to 1 pm. Lunch is served at noon
Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm. Dinner is served at 1:30 pm.
